Powers Construction began when Matt and Emily said yes to God’s idea. They risked the little they had and decided to found and build a company that was different because it was focused on people and problem-solving, not process or profits. Whether it’s our employees, partners, clients or subcontractors our heartbeat is for people to experience the holy love of Jesus Christ.
We believe actions speak louder than words and while people may forget what you say, they won’t forget how you treat them. We pour our resources into people because they are the only investment that lasts. Because this is our motive, we are trusted by many. Our mission is simple: to love and serve you the same way Jesus has loved and served us.
This is why we stop for the one. Whether it’s a grieving mother, an eager child or a sick employee our bottom line is different. Exceptional quality and craftsmanship? Yes, we do that. But who we are is so much more important than what we do. The Powers brand marries character with construction.
Matt Powers
Owner + Founder
Matt Powers founded Powers Construction in 2008, but he started in the industry at the age of 13 and already has over 30 years of experience. He has a business degree from Kent State University and a background in architecture and drafting, which allows him to see the finished product before any work has been done. Matt exercises uncommon authority wherever he goes, but is a servant leader who gets his hands dirty humping lumber and digging postholes. An excellent communicator, he discerns problems and identifies pain points in order to offer solutions, bringing peace and continuity to your home.
A husband and father of two girls, Matt is a leader of Firelands Church, a local house church network. He is a backyard birder, audiobook junkie, celebrity chef yet to be discovered and a big fan of hiking and biking, when it’s followed by ice cream.
